Salmon, Idaho Option:
For participants driving from their home to Salmon or who choose to fly to a western location and obtain a rental car, the Salmon Option is most appropriate. However, rental cars can neither be obtained nor relinquished in Salmon. The Stage Coach Inn, where overnight reservations for the nights in Salmon are made, has a long term parking area. Those who select this option should plan to arrive in Salmon by late afternoon on the departure date listed in the brochure. The Stage Coach Inn is located on Highway 93 North in the town of Salmon on the west side of the Salmon River.

Idaho Falls, Idaho Option:
This option is most convenient for people who wish to visit the Grand Teton/Yellowstone National Park area either before or after their river trip. Idaho Falls is served by Horizon Airlines and Skywest (Delta). Car rental agencies are located at the airport and Jackson, Wyoming (a gateway community for the two National Parks) is just one hundred miles from Idaho Falls. Horizon Airlines serves the northwest, and for all other areas of the nation the Skywest connection is made through Salt Lake City, Utah. We normally meet the 12:08 PM Skywest arrival from Salt Lake City, but if necessary, the 2:46 PM arrival will work too. Depending on the number of people arriving in Idaho Falls we will have a van or bus waiting to transport participants from Idaho Falls to Salmon. This is a two and a half to three hour drive. Return flights from Idaho Falls can be scheduled after 11:30 AM on the last day of the river trip package as indicated in the brochure.

Boise, Idaho Option:
Boise is served by Delta, Skywest, Horizon, Northwest, Southwest, and United Airlines. Because of the competition, air fares to Boise may be cheaper than those to Idaho Falls. However, the Boise option necessitates the use of an air taxi to reach Salmon. Salmon River Rafting Company includes the round trip air taxi flight in the Boise option. The flight from Boise to Salmon is about an hour and a half. During the summer season Salmon Air Taxi provides three flights daily to Salmon- 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:30 PM. Accordingly, those selecting this option should plan to arrive in Boise prior to 4:30 PM on the first day of the river trip package indicated in the brochure. Upon arrival in Boise, check in at the Salmon Air Taxi counter as soon as possible. They may be holding a plane just for you, or they may have a flight available earlier than their scheduled departure. If one of the Salmon River Rafting Company staff is not able to meet you at the Salmon Airport the Stage Coach Inn will provide transportation from the airport. Return flights from Boise can be scheduled after 11:00 AM on the last day of the river trip package indicated in the brochure. For clients selecting the Boise Option, Salmon River Rafting Company will provide a small map providing directions to the Salmon Air Taxi counter at the Boise airport. The Stage Coach Inn has a secure room for the storage of hard luggage while we are on the river. They provide a swimming pool, laundry, and complimentary continental breakfast. If either the Idaho Falls or Boise options are selected, we will need to know your air carrier, flight numbers, and arrival and departure times.

Customized Logistical Options:
The three options presented above meet the travel needs of most of our guests. However, on occasion some additional flexibility is appropriate. It is possible to meet for the trip in Idaho Falls and depart from Boise. More elaborate arrangements are also possible, and almost anything is possible if money is not an issue. For instance, charter air flights can be arranged from most regional communities in the northwest and we can arrange for van transportation from or to Missoula, Montana and Jackson, Wyoming.
